Spring Break: Days Six and Seven

Meh. Yesterday was boring.

Today, was not as bad. I am now close to page 500 (yea, I’ve been procrastinating) in that book and should be done soon. I started to format the Indian constitution to suit my tastes. Don’t worry, I am not going to mass produce it and distribute it. If you want to take a look at it, go here. I don’t know why they don’t have a pdf, or even a decent hypertext version of that document.

Interesting stuff from the past couple of day:

Dravid’s moment of reckoning Annual H-1B visa cap met Apple Stokes a Digital Music Standards War etc.

Good night.

Spring Break: Days Four and Five

Filed under: Spring Break '07 — Gilbert Keith @ 8:14 pm

Update:

Yesterday was good. Frisbee was excellent. No complaints about the weather. I was extremely hungry throughout the evening for some reason, but it was a good occasion for feasting.

Today: not so bad. Compiled/analyzed some quiz-bowl data which might help for the upcoming deep-bench tournament. I’m really pumped for those individual rounds. =) The Three Musketeers is going very well also! I am loving the conversational approach. Also, the audiobook is a good supplement for understanding the gravity of the situation.  I will try to get to page 480/600 tonight.

Spring Break: Day Three

Filed under: Spring Break '07 — Gilbert Keith @ 4:31 am

Report:

1. Read/listened to musketeers. Good reading overall. Again, full of intrigue.
2. Good volunteering session at library, because not only did I get all the books organized, but also listened to about an hour and half of the aforementioned book in that process.
3. Listened to news casts and other stuff.
4. Read up on famous senators and politicians. I wonder how some people like Ted Stevens can be so wonderfully intelligent about phenomena that are two generations too late for him. I mean A SERIES OF FREAKING TUBES for God’s sake. Come on, man.
5. Dinner with family friends. An enjoyable deal. :)

I want to learn IPA and the Cyrillic Alphabet.

Spring Break: Day Two

Filed under: Spring Break '07 — Gilbert Keith @ 3:49 am

Report:

Marginally better than yesterday. The fact that the rain persisted made me lazy once again. Did not get any physical activity done, but I was really hungry all the time and was feeling very cold. Eh, whatever. I did get about 120 pages of the reading done, though. It is more interesting to read about M. D’Artagnan now that he’s surrounded by mystery and intrigue. Furthermore, I seem to have gotten really good at buzzing in/responding to clues when I need to.

I dumped away a LOT of crap today. It probably amounts to 1000+ papers. I also found some old stuff, i.e. physics homework pertaining to electricity and magnetism, belonging to Richard.

Library volunteering tomorrow. And weatherman, pray render better intelligence in th’ morn.

Spring Break: Day One

Filed under: Spring Break '07 — Gilbert Keith @ 4:40 am

What have I accomplished?

Nothing “interesting”. I started of making some book/author lists and reading random stuff on the internet. That morphed into listening to the HSNCT podcast from last year. Then, started configuring this blog (I’ve given up blogger for good now). I will begin to hate myself should this continue.

Tomorrow’s plans: Frisbee, Walk Around Staring Lake, Read The Three Musketeers, and Possibly go for a drive. I also need to find the video version of musketeers. That will be a new experience, going to a video-rental store.
