The Junk I ate today:

Filed under: Uncategorized — Gilbert Keith @ 9:45 pm

Includes, but isn’t limited to:

Costco chocolate cupcake (1 full cupcake, with frosting, 760 calories)

Mountain Dew Throwback (1 can, 170 calories)

Dominos Pizza (3 slices, ~630 calories)

Canada Dry Ginger Ale Green Tea (about 1 can, ~140 calories)

Ceres Mango Juice (1 cup, 120 calories)

Costco Chocolate Chunk Cookie (1 cookie, 210 calories)

I didn’t actually eat more junky food other than the faluda, which was probably about 400 calories.

I don’t really feel bad about it, since I biked about 40 miles, walked about 2.5 miles, threw a frisbee for 30 minutes, etc.

Actually, I do feel pretty terrible now.

The above is a video of some bikers (the motorbike kind) from Chennai who indulge in the road. Some have made trips to Kashmir and other such cool places. They talk about how the advent of 4-lane highways is changing their experiences, and they reminisce on their experiences in the past.

The video is in Hindi.

Fear of GM milk is more science fiction than fact | Johnjoe McFadden | Comment is free | guardian.co.uk

“[...] Dolly the sheep represented a novel type of cloning that is capable of generating virtually limitless copies of adult animals. These copies are not necessarily genetically engineered, but the process of cloning does allow for genetic tweaking to, for instance, generate cows that produce more milk.

It is this type of GM clone that tends to worry anti-GM lobbyists. But the fact is that millions of tons of GM food (mostly crops) have been consumed by people around the world for more than a decade. As far as is known, no one has ever died or even got sick from eating GM food. Why are so scared of GM ingredients, while cheerfully accepting far greater hazards?”
